Take Your Number 1 Gal to the Sewage Plant for Valentine’s Day!

Hey, New York–if you’re uncomfortable with your natural musk, which makes you manly but can fell a buffalo at 30 yards, take your lady love to the Brooklyn Sewage Plant’s special Valentine’s Day tour!
Our pals at CBS Local spoke with tour guide and superintendent Jim Pynn, who rightly senses that some couples will do it because it’s such a weirdly unromantic destination that it must be worth the experience. That’s the same logic that will send many a couple to White Castle for a romantic dinner on February 14th. Just make sure you go to the plant before dinner, not after. Can you imagine how embarrassing it would be to tour a sewage plant smelling like White Castle?
Pynn points out the event includes a spectacular view of the country’s most romantic skyline, as well as the plant’s own intriguing architecture, then sweetens the deal by offering you a kiss — but only the Hershey kind, so this date at a sewage plant won’t get weird or anything.
We’re saying go for it. It’s interesting, educational, environmentally friendly, and Pynn knows we can’t resist learning and chocolate. Just don’t feel pressure when he suggests with a note of hopeless romance in his voice* that it would be great for a couple to get engaged along the way. You propose to that girl only when you feel the time is right, you sludgy romantic, you.
*we can’t prove that.
