Face it, muscle cars will never go out of style. We men love our women fast and our cars even faster! Muscle cars have a sleek and meaty look, but what we like most about them is what’s under the hood.

A lot of times they say, “If it ain’t broke, why fix it?” And in the case of the muscle car that sentiment holds true. Looking back at the era of the classic muscle car in the 1960s, today’s version is simply a beefed up, modified version of the old. Why reinvent the wheel when you can simply make it burn at a heftier rate.

Here is a look at the Top 5 muscle cars, embracing the old and the new:

4. 2010 Chevy Camaro

The 2010 Chevy Camaro is a more modern take on the classic muscle car. The top feature in the 2010 model is that it has all the specs of a classic muscle car, yet it boasts the technology to make it among the most fuel efficient in its class. A little nod to those who are looking for a newer, sleeker-looking Camaro.

3. 1968 L88 Corvette

As Super Cars puts it, this is the biggest and baddest Corvette of them all. This beauty was developed specifically for the track, yet eventually made its way to the boulevard. There are only 200 in existence. In 2010 one sold at auction for over $400,000. You can certainly say this car is “money.”

2. 1965 Pontiac GTO

Unlike the L88 Corvette, the 1965 Pontiac GTO was made for the masses. In fact, Pontiac moved over 75,000 GTOs in 1965 alone. It essentially started the muscle car craze, which is why it’s so highly regarded. With the ability to go from 0-60 in 6.1 seconds, the ’65 GTO could roll with the best of them.

1. 1969 ZL1 Chevy Camaro

Ah, yes, the 1969 Chevy Camaro. The car often referred to as the “blank canvass” of the muscle car, the ’69 Camaro is possibly the rarest of all with just 69 copies in existence. How can you go wrong? This car has both the speed and power that all car enthusiasts desire.
